Mr Kerry Acton qualified from St George’s Hospital in 1994. After basic surgical training and FRCS in London he continued his orthopaedic training wIth a knee surgery fellowship at the Wellington Knee Surgery Unit in St John’s Wood, followed by appointment to the South West Thames training scheme. He spent a year in a Furlong Fellowship in revision and cementless hip replacement on the south coast before moving to the Royal Surrey in 2007.

Kerry is a keen trauma and fracture surgeon and looks after injuries to most areas of the body but his main elective interest is in surgery of the hip and knee. He is a proponent of uncemented hip replacements and hard bearing (metal on metal (MoM) and ceramic on ceramic) hips. He performs revision hip surgery for failed hip replacements. He has a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of hip and knee problems in the young including arthroscopy of the hip and knee. He has published papers on hip surgery including resurfacing, knee surgery and fractures.
